When Are You Going to Enlighten?

Everyone reading this is already enlightened to some degree, or you wouldn't be compelled to read this. Your true Self is already realized, but your mind is still identifying with the programming it created throughout your life that make you think that you are not. You couldn't be anything other than that which you already are, but your mind has other ideas of who it thinks you are. Our whole life we watch ourselves start to awaken, and go back to sleep. Through pleasure and pain we evolve. Everything we experience is teaching us something about ourselves, and all our life experiences are helping us to fully enlighten and fulfill our life purpose. Chances are you "know" this already, you evolved your Self to the point where you've realized that there is something to be realized.

Students often ask: when will I enlighten? When the desire to enlighten is greater than all the desires keeping you from enlightening. However, letting go of those other desires may be easier said than done. The good news is that we have a means of connecting with that part of us that knows who we are and why we were born. This innate intelligence -spirit- is guiding you to read this and reflect, it's always there guiding you in every situation, everywhere, all the time. That which is guiding you is you, and to the degree you become conscious of this part of yourself you enlighten. Enlightenment is the abandonment of ignorance, in other words, the mind no longer ignores the Divine presence within you and around you everywhere all the time; you are present to the Divine presence.

Students also often ask, how do I know if I'm getting close or if I'm enlightened? The closer you get to God the more love you feel. The more conscious you are, the happier you are. You don't need anyone else to validate you, if you're in god bliss you're getting pretty close. As we connect with presence of God within us, we feel euphoria or blissful, what the Yogi's call Laya Samadhi. In addition to the endorphins and other brain chemicals that are secreted during meditation, there is a deeper , transcendental, peace that displaces the darkness in our mind. Like turning a light switch on, your light is always on but your brain might be blocking the light, switching it off (metaphorically). This is why we meditate, to keep the light on. Just as the light dispels darkness, you're personal sense of "I" dissolves and there is no sense of one having enlightened.

So bliss is the beacon that brings you closer to God. Bliss is the sign that you are aware of the Divine presence. If you're not feeling bliss, you simply have to develop your connection with the Source of that bliss within you. If you get disconnected, you simply need to get re-connected; and if you keep connecting every day you are going to stay more connected that you would otherwise. The more you connect the more connected you will be, until you are fully connected and shining. It's not hard. Your mind may trick you into thinking it's hard, but it's not. It's a matter of being open to receive, just let go of everything else. Let go and let God. So are you feeling any bliss? Would you like to? Would you like even more? I can show you how, just come with me. So, when are you going to enlighten? How about now?
