Seeking Enlightenment
Throughout history, throughout the world, human beings have sought to know who they are and why they were born so they can fulfill the purpose of their existence. We are all imbued with an instinct to evolve; humanity is collectively coming to a realization, and you just happen to be amongst the first to come to this realization. You are being guided; to the degree you listen to that inner guidance you will find happiness and peace, and to the degree you don't listen you find discord and pain. Most people are looking outside of themselves to find the answers, but as you intuitively know, the answers lie within.
The Yogi's of India looked within to enlighten. The Buddhists looked within. The Sufi's looked within, has have the Taoist Masters, the Zen Masters and many other spiritual paths claiming to have a means to enlightenment. But what most people in Western Civilization don't realize is that Jesus Christ taught us to look within too. We find evidence of this inner realization throughout the Bible, but it is rarely understood or fully explained because most people preaching the Gospel are not enlightened themselves so they may not get the deeper meaning to such statements as "The kingdom of Heaven lies within" or "the Father and I are one". Whether you consider yourself a Christian or not, the profundity of these statements moves us internally to explore their meaning, as if we already know deep inside but need to draw it out into our conscious awareness.
We have entered into a Spiritual Renaissance with more information coming to light in science and history than has ever been known before. One of the great gems that has been unveiled are the earliest scriptures from Christians in Israel in the first and early second century, well before the New Testament was created. Of the 11 or so books used by the disciples of Christ living in the vicinity of Nazareth and Galilee in the first two centuries, all of them share one central theme: To know your Self and find God within. It's in the gospels of the Nazareans, Hebrews, Egyptians and the Ebionites, as well as the gospels of Thomas, Philip, James and Mary Magdalene. All this is coming to light during this generation and you are amongst the first to know.
Being raised Christian, I was dumbfounded to discover that the first Christians studied the path to enlightenment; Jesus was showing them The Way to God by looking within and coming to know your true nature, yet most of humanity is still ignorant of these teachings.
