Self Awareness Study Groups
A Resource for those Enlightening and Students of Steven S. Sadleir
How to Start a Study Group
Each group is autonomous and independent, and is in no way supervised or authorized by Steven S. Sadleir, the Self Awareness Institute or its affiliates.
The intention of the group should include: 1) To serve as a vehicle of Divine Will (God), 2) to support the enlightenment of humanity and world peace, and 3) to align with the teachings of Steven S. Sadleir and the Self Awareness Institute.
Study groups should be self sustaining, and no charge or fee required, aside from optional donations towards related expenses such as rental costs for facilities. Each group can elect a leader, but no group leaders should claim to be a "teacher". The 12 Step model serves as a guide. Group Leaders roles may include sending email reminders for group meeting times, topics, locations, etc. Group Leaders can also facilitate Yahoo, Google or other on-line groups and social networking venues. Group Leaders serve as a point of light for those enlightening in their part of the world.
Self Awareness Study Group Activities
1. Meditation. The group can use Enlightenment Radio or digital media, such as Steven's CD's, MP3's or DVD's, or join the live teleconferenced guided meditations posted in our newsletter and events section of our website.
2. Satsangs & Talks. The group may use Enlightenment Radio and digital media to listen to talks by Steven followed by a discussion by the group.
3. Book Reading. Students can read from and discuss sections from one of Steven's books, essays, poems or talks, see www.SelfAwareness.com for selections.
4. Healing Circles. Students can come together to form a healing circle ("Love Tap"), to support the well being of each participant. For guidelines click here.
Study Group Formats
We suggest that the group leader welcome and introduce the members, and extend invitations to bring new members. Steven's suggests starting with a prayer, such as: "Lord (or any name for God), help us to be pure vehicles of your love, and light, and wisdom." As Shaktipat is the central power behind all these teachings, we suggest you take a few minutes to connect with Steven energetically. We ask that the Self Awareness Study Groups not include other teachings, and that these groups not be used for selling other services or products. We suggest that at the end of the meeting a moment be taken to declare and envision a world living together in happiness and peace - a world enlightened - then create it.
